How to create timelapse with your phone
Creating timelapse with your phone.
Everyone has seen these great timelapse videos of amazing sunrises.
Earlier you would require to have a good DSLR (Digital single-lens reflex) camera and specifically the one that has the function allowing to set an interval between shots.
But fortunately, you no longer need that to create your time lapse. Today the majority of smartphones have cameras good enough to create Full HD shots and compose those into time lapse video.
Also, all IOS, Android and Windows stores have multiple free applications that would take photos automatically with different settings. Just search for “lapse” and any app store will return a list of apps. You will just need to find out which you like the most.
Use default settings or customize it with preferred parameters and you are ready to go.
As a tip, we would recommend getting a smartphone tripod, which will make it more comfortable to set up the phone on preferred position and is safer for the phone itself.
Another helpful advice would be to get a power bank with quite big capacity as phone will require lots of energy to take pictures for long time.
Also, you can take a mechanical kitchen timer that rotates while it counts down the time. This will allow you to make you timelapse video more spectacular like this one:
However be careful choosing an app, as some of them are free at the first sight, but you will be required to pay once you want to save the video (that happened to me).
Enjoy your timelapse and feel free to post them in the comments.
